Tryout Process for Current Players

Do not need to register to tryout, until mid May. If you accept early registration there is no need to tryout.

Do not need to try out April-March, unless it is an RAL special tryout.

Do need to attend all formal tryouts as these are used to help solidify team placement by having current players scrimmage with the age group pool and prospective players.

Players are encouraged to bring a friend to tryouts.  Bringing a friend alleviates a lot of anxiety that tryouts may cause.  Your friends will need a prospective player waiver completed prior to attending.

This is available on the website :Join US” tab

Most ID sessions will be with the RAL or Red team trainings’.

ID sessions is a tryout at a team training, typically in May and Dec-Mar.

Formal tryouts is a tryout typically held last May-mid June and involves the entire age group(s).  Formal tryouts will be 6/3–6/6 and 6/11.  Consult the tryout page on the website

Team Placement

Team placement typically follows a hierarchy based on RAL, Red, Navy, and Grey. Some regional Navy and Grey teams might have equal standing and train in separate areas, such as Bedford/Lexington or Wilmington/Reading. Most teams within an age group train together under the guidance of the age group director.

We adopt a conservative approach to summer and fall roster assignments, viewing these seasons as developmental phases. Players may be moved at any point from fall to late March to ensure they maximize their growth within the 2025/2026 club year. Our aim is to provide an environment where each player can hone their technical skills without feeling pressured to relinquish possession hastily.
